Outfits Main article: Leroy Smith/Outfits Leroy appears to be blind in his right eye, though he is mostly seen with his eyes obscured by a pair of black sunglasses. He has a mustache and beard, a dragon tattoo on his right arm, and tattoos of rings on his thumbs. Leroy is muscular and fit despite his advancing years. Leroy has white dreadlocks, some of which are adorned with gold jewelry. He can also be quietly mocking of such opponents, though always conducts himself with discipline and self-control. Leroy seems to have a sense of humour, chuckling to himself at opponents he doesn't see as worthwhile. Leroy has a more gentle and caring side to him, as seen in his manner towards his dog, Sugar, who at times acts as his partner in battle. His vendetta against Heihachi, as Zaibatsu leader then and now, is a personal one. His desire to liberate his home city was also one born of anger at his family's death and the brutality of the violence and pain he was personally subject to. As well as justice however, Leroy is also motivated by revenge. Leroy is motivated by justice, and his heart was set first on liberating the populace of New York from gang violence, and then on taking down the Mishima Zaibatsu when he learned that they are orchestrators of war both in the past and present. The hanzi on his back 戒 ( temperance) refers to his choice to he keep himself in check. Leroy is a disciplined and seasoned martial artist, who has dedicated himself to perfecting Wing Chun for decades. With this purpose in mind, Leroy joined the King of Iron Fist Tournament that Heihachi called. On discovering that the same corporation that had plunged the world into its current violence was also responsible for the destruction in his home city, Leroy set his heart on confronting Heihachi Mishima, the man he held responsible. In the process, Leroy learned from one of the gang leaders that the violence fifty years ago was initiated by the Mishima Zaibatsu working from behind the scenes. He struck hard and single-handedly destroyed the gang influence over the city. He set out for revenge and to liberate the city. He worked as a trader, travelling all over the world, until one day he witnessed Wing Chun in Hong Kong, and decided to stay and learn the martial art.Ībout half a century later, Leroy heard that New York was still in the grasp of the gangs responsible for his family's death, though their power was now greatly diminished. Fortunately, Leroy was picked up by a passing trade ship, who took him in. During the violence, an injured Leroy fell into a river and was swept out to sea. This was likely the moment when Leroy sustained a lasting injury in his right eye, which appears to be blind, and may also be why he now uses a cane. Leroy's family were killed in the crossfire and Leroy himself was badly injured. An all out gang war in which even police and politicians were on gang payrolls escalated and turned the streets into a warzone. #TEKKEN 8 DEVIL HEIHACHI SERIES#That said, the outcome could culminate in a major turning point for the Tekken series after nearly three decades of storytelling.Leroy grew up in New York until, as a young boy, his lost his entire family to gang violence. Ultimately, the final battle will come down to Jin and Kazuya. Each of them chooses to do so in their own way, but this marks the first time that they teamed up and promised that something big was on the horizon, as time was no longer on their side. ![]() There's more of an unhinged quality to Kazuya that has been proven by the unification of Lars, Lee, and Jin in Tekken 7's conclusion.Īll three of the heroes mentioned share a familial bond with Kazuya and Heihachi and were, therefore, the most qualified to take them down. While Jin Kazama started World War III to end his curse, Kazuya destroyed an entire satellite to spite his father, no matter how many innocents died in the aftermath. In Tekken 7, he fully embraced his Devil Gene abilities and wasn't afraid to cause massive chaos. ![]() Part of why the next installment of Tekken could be the biggest entry yet is because of how Kazuya had been set up in the previous installment. ![]()
